Traffic stop in Lachute results in drug bust

At around 8:30 p.m. on April 14, Argenteuil Sûreté du Québec (SQ) officers intercepted a vehicle on Route 148 in Lachute for a Highway Safety Code check.  During the check, the police discovered narcotics.

Police seized methamphetamine tablets, tablets of an unknown substance, a prohibited weapon and a small amount of cannabis.

A 47-year-old man from Lachute was arrested and then taken to the SQ station. the 47-year-old man from Lachute was arrested and taken to the station but later released.  He will appear in court in Saint-Jérôme at a later date and could face charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
