Swings , slides, and see-saws will be open in Ontario after all.
Sweeping new measures announced by Premier Doug Ford on Friday to curtail gatherings of people and the spread of COVID-19 included a plan to close all public playgrounds across the province. That plan led to a lot of complaints from parents, especially those without backyards who want their children to have a place to play outside.
On Saturday afternoon, Ford announced on Twitter that playgrounds across Ontario will indeed remain open.
The Premier reminded parents to keep their distance from each other and to wear masks if keeping distance is not possible.
