There were 21 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil as of Thursday, April 1, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 22 as of Thursday.

There was a total of 359 active cases of COVID-19 across the Laurentides region of Québec as of April 1.

Vaccination information

The Québec department of health and social services reported that 83,039 COVID-19 vaccine doses been administered across its territory as of Thursday.

In the Laurentides region Québec residents aged 65 (born in 1956 or before) and greater are eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19.  Ages 60 and greater are not yet eligible in the Laurentides region.  Vaccinations MUST be made by appointment and can be scheduled by going to QUÉBEC.CA/VACCINCOVID or by calling 1-866-495-5833.

Cases in schools and long-term care facilities

According to the Québec government, there were active cases of COVID-19 as of April 1 at the following schools in MRC d’Argenteuil communities:

École Bouchard in Brownsburg

Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute

As of Thursday, there were no active cases of COVID-19 at long-term care or retirement residences in the MRC d’Argenteuil.

Québec statistics

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 9,038 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Thursday, April 1.

There were 487 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of Thursday, and 119 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 10,676 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of April 1, which was an increase of seven deaths from March 31.

Across Québec, 1,391,649 vaccine doses had been administered as of Thursday.

Restrictions

Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.

The curfew between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect.
