ROCKLAND– Donald Leinen of Rockland anted up and went all in to win the Poker Lotto All In jackpot worth $79,883.60 on February 10, 2021. Leinin also won $5,050 on the instant portion of his Poker Lotto play, bringing his total winnings to $84,933.60.
Leinin, 60, is a regular lottery player. “I’ve been playing for 40 years. This is my largest win,” he shared.
The publishing industry worker says there was no one else in the store other than the cashier when he checked his tickets.
“The clerk told me I won $84,000 and I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “It took a full day to sink in!”
Leinin told his children about his big win. “They were surprised,” he laughed. “They said, ‘What are you buying me?’.”
The new lottery winner plans to purchase a vehicle and pay some bills.
“I’ve never owned a new car before,” Leinin said. “I will make the rest of my winnings last as long as I can.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on County Road 174 in Rockland.
