Le Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO) has announced the appointment of Nicholas Cardinal as Executive Director of Talent Management and Organizational Development.
Cardinal holds a master’s degree in public administration from the National School of Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in social sciences – criminology concentration – from the University of Ottawa.
He joined CEPEO in 2014, after having worked in the fields of child protection and social reintegration. Cardinal was first manager of the staffing and organizational development sectors within the Human Resources Department. Since 2018, he has held the position of Deputy Director of Human Resources Services.
Since his arrival at CEPEO, Cardinal has distinguished himself by his organizational skills. His versatility and expertise in the field of systemic management have enabled him to make a significant contribution to the development of the skills of Board staff.
As Senior Executive Director of Organizational Development and Human Talent, Cardinal will be responsible in particular for developing a strategic vision of talent management and will ensure the deployment of an inclusive organizational culture, which values development, diversity and employee well-being.
“Since joining the Board, I have noticed the tremendous talent pool of our staff,” Cardinal said. “I am determined to do everything I can to ensure that each staff member can thrive and contribute to making our Board an inclusive, caring and opportunity-creating work environment.”
By accepting this professional mandate, I am committing to prioritize the contribution of human capital and skills development by advocating a collaborative approach based on pluralism for all CEPEO workplaces.”
Director of Education Sylvie C.R. Tremblay said she is delighted with the appointment of Cardinal. “Through experience, his strategic vision, his knowledge of the workings of CEPEO and his modern, open and inclusive management style, Nicholas Cardinal is the right person for the role of Executive Director of Talent Management and Organizational Development. I am convinced that he will be able to consolidate the achievements of CEPEO, while bringing it to new horizons.”
The Executive Director of Talent Management and Organizational Development will oversee the strategic orientations of CEPEO’s human resources. A post of Director of the Human Resources Service will be filled shortly.
Cardinal will take office on March 31.
