Active COVID-19 cases in Argenteuil increase to 23

There were 23 active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil as of Thursday, February 18, according to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority.  There had been 20 active cases of COVID-19 among Argenteuil residents as of Wednesday.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 across Argenteuil remained at 21 as of Thursday.

On Thursday, there were a total of 386 active cases of COVID-19 across the Laurentides region of Québec.

Across the Laurentides region, 13,929 people had began vaccinated against COVID-19 as of February 18.

Cases in schools and long-term care facilities

The Québec government reported active cases of COVID-19 at the following schools across the MRC d’Argenteuil as of February 18:

Laurentian Regional High School in Lachute

Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute

As of February 18, no active cases of COVID-19 were present at long-term care facilities in the MRC d’Argenteuil.

Québec statistics

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 9,378 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as Thursday, February 18.  The number of active cases had increased by 900 from February 17 to February 18.

There were 747 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of February 18, and 129 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 10,264 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of February 18, which was an increase of 6 deaths from February 17.

Restrictions

Under Québec’s regional system of COVID-19 emergency measures, the MRC d’Argenteuil, and the entire Laurentides region, is a red zone.

The curfew between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ban on gatherings in private homes and on private land, and compulsory working from home remain in effect.
