Sûreté du Québec finds and fines party at chalet in Laurentians

A group of Ontario residents are facing steep fines for a gathering at a chalet in the Laurentians that violated Québec’s COVID-19 restrictions.

On February 14, Sûreté du Québec police officers went to Chemin des Pionniers in Labelle at around 10:15 p.m. following a report of a possible gathering inside a chalet. On site, the police noticed five vehicles. After some checking, they found 11 people, all Ontario residents, inside the cottage. General offense reports will be produced for these eleven people for a total of $ 17,050 in fines and will be sent to the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions for approval.
