COVID-19 statistics for the area under the jurisdiction of the Eastern Ontario Health Unit were not updated on Monday, February 15, due to the Family Day holiday in the Province of Ontario.
For the EOHU’s territory, the provincial stay-at-home order ends on Tuesday, February 16. Regions of the province will be gradually returning to the system of coloured COVID-19 zones with varying restrictions.
As of Tuesday, the EOHU territory will become an orange zone.
Ontario statistics
As of February 15, there were 981 new, active cases of COVID-19 across Ontario from February 14. According to calculations based on statistics from the Ministry of Health, there were 12,047 active cases of COVID-19 across Ontario as of February 15.
There were 705 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Ontario as of February 15. Out of those patients, 292 were in intensive care, and 203 patients were on ventilators.
There had been 6,693 deaths due to COVID-19 across Ontario as of February 15, which was an increase of 42 deaths from February 14.
