The fire department in La Nation is in a state of transition.
At the January 25 council meeting, the appointment of Daniel Desforges as Interim Fire Chief was approved. Desforges was previous the Station Chief for the St-Isidore fire station.
Mayor François St-Amour confirmed that Tobias Hovey is no longer the Fire Chief but could not comment on his departure due to it being a personnel matter that was discussed by council in a closed session.
Hovey had served as Fire Chief for La Nation since 2014.
