There was a slight decrease in the number of active cases of COVID-19 among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil between Monday, February 1, and Tuesday, February 2.

According to the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority, as of Tuesday, there were 53 active cases of COVID-19 among the population of Argenteuil.  On Monday, there had been 55 active cases.  There was a total of 744 active cases of COVID-19 across the entire Laurentides region of Québec as of Tuesday.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Argenteuil as of February 2 remained at 16 for the second day.

The Québec government reported active cases of COVID-19 at the following schools across the MRC d’Argenteuil as of February 1:

Séminaire du Sacré-Coeur in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge

École St-Philippe in Brownsburg-Chatham

Laurentian Regional High School in Lachute

Polyvalente Lavigne in Lachute

As of February 1, COVID-19 cases were present at the Résidence de Lachute, and at the CHSLD Argenteuil long-term care facility in Lachute.

Across the Laurentides region of Québec, 12,417 people had been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of February 2.

The curfew across Québec intended to reduce the spread of COVID-19 continues from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly until February 8.  All citizens are to remain at home during that time, unless for specific medical, employment, or emergency reasons.

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 13,126 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Tuesday, February 2.  The number of active cases had increased by 1,053 from February 1 to February 2.

There were 1,110 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of February 2, and 178 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 9,682 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of February 2, which was an increase of 36 deaths from February 1.
