27 active cases of COVID-19 in Argenteuil, more than 1,900 new cases across Québec

Active COVID-19 cases across the MRC d’Argenteuil had increased to 27 on Tuesday, January 12 from 24 on Monday, January 11.  There had been 375 cumulative cases of COVID-19 in Argenteuil as of Tuesday.  Across the entire Laurentides region of Québec, there were 1,044 active cases of COVID-19 as of January 12.

The number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Argenteuil remained at 12 as of Tuesday.

Public schools across Québec resumed classes on January 11.  As of January 12, Laurentian Regional High School in Lachute was the only school in the MRC d’Argenteuil listing a case of COVID-19 among students or staff.

As of January 12, no cases of COVID-19 were listed at long-term care facilities or retirement residences across the MRC d`Argenteuil.

Québec began a four-week curfew intended to reduce the spread of COVID-19 on the night of Saturday, January 9.  The curfew is in effect from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly until February 8.  All citizens are to remain at home during that time, unless for specific medical, employment, or emergency reasons.

According to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ), there were 23,903 active cases of COVID-19 across Québec as of Monday, January 11.  The number of active cases had increased by 1,934 from January 10 to January 11.  There were 232,624 cumulative cases and 199,920 resolved cases across Québec as of January 11.

There were 1,497 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of January 11, and 221 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 8,782 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of January 11.
