In recent weeks, the CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority in Québec has launched a staff recruitment campaign in order to carry out the vaccination against COVID-19.  The vaccination effort has already begun in the region with priority being given to health care workers and vulnerable citizens.

“Vaccination against COVID-19 is a priority for us and we are currently deploying many efforts in the rigorous planning of this large-scale operation. Simultaneously, regular CISSS activities continue while maintaining the pace of COVID-19 screenings.  Additional staff are necessary to carry out our work,” said CISSS des Laurentides President and CEO, Rosemonde Landry.

CISSS des Laurentides management is calling for additional qualified personnel to assist existing staff with the vaccination effort.  Aid for vaccination and administrative agents are also needed, in addition to vaccinators and injectors.

“By combining current resources with new resources, we will be able to adapt to the different waves of vaccine arrivals,” said Landry.

Human resources needs will be adjusted according to the gradual arrival of vaccines and prioritization of groups to be vaccinated. This is why the CISSS is already active in recruiting for meet current and future needs. The hiring of staff is now underway in order to have resources available, trained, and ready.
