On December 14, 2020 shortly after 9:00 a.m Stormont Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of domestic situation in North Glengarry Township. The investigation revealed that an adult male accused had assaulted his girlfriend several times and threatened the victim as well.
The accused male fled the location.
On December 16, 2020 SD&G OPP, with the assistance from the OPP canine unit, the accused was arrested at a residence in Berwick, Ontario.
A 33-year-old male accused of North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault CC sec. 266 – Two counts
-Uttering threats – Criminal code (CC) Sec. 264.1(1)(a)
-Obstruct peace officer CC Sec. 129(a)
– fail to comply with conditions of a probation order CC sec. 733.1(1)
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on December 17, 2020.
