The CISSS des Laurentides regional health authority reported a slight increase in active COVID-19 cases among residents of the MRC d’Argenteuil on Friday, December 4.  There were nine active cases, up from two on Tuesday, December 1.  As of December 4, there had been 273 cumulative cases of COVID-19 in Argenteuil.

There were 353 active cases of COVID-19 in the Laurentides region of Québec as of December 4.

The COVID-19 pandemic had resulted in 11 deaths in Argenteuil, and 339 deaths across the Laurentides, as of December 4, according to the CISSS des Laurentides.

Schools and long-term care

As of December 4, no outbreaks of COVID-19 were in effect at long-term care facilities, other group living institutions, or hospitals across the MRC d’Argenteuil.

There were no cases of COVID-19 among schools across the MRC d’Argenteuil as of December 4.

The MRC d’Argenteuil remained as an orange zone under Québec`s regional system of COVID-19 measures, as of December 4, even though it has an extremely low number of active cases.  Argenteuil is surrounded by orange and red zones with higher numbers of cases.

Across Québec as of December 3, there were 13,142 active cases of COVID-19, according to the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ).  There were 147,877 cumulative cases and 127,549 resolved cases as of Thursday.

There were 761 COVID-19 patients in hospital across Québec as of December 3, and 97 of those patients were in intensive care.

There had been 7,183 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 across Québec as of December 3.
