At the Centre de services à l’emploi Prescott-Russell Employment Services Centre, they have relied on research showing that good customer service is key to retaining customers and that there is a need to realign goals to create customer loyalty.

Sanitation and public health regulations have also changed customer purchasing habits, which has resulted in more people buying online.

The centre has received a $49,202 Francophone Community Grant from the Ontario government to train local francophone entrepreneurs, managers, and staff with a series of free training sessions on e-commerce and customer service to equip businesses and organizations across the region.

The sessions will be led by Marketing Professor Martin Savard of the Université du Québec a l`Outaouais (UQO) in Gatineau.

The first workshop on demystifying and maximizing electronic commerce will take place on Wednesday, January 6.  For more information, contact the centre at 613-632-0179, or toll-free at 1-800-668-5950.
