Vankleek Hill is Santa’s favourite village for good reason – When the going gets tough, the village comes together in spirit. The Vankleek Hill Christmas Non-Parade of Lights will go on virtually this year!

Friday, November 27 between 7 and 8:30 p.m. parade participants are encouraged to display their decorations, floats, houses and storefronts. Excellent Events will be on hand with LIVE VIDEO shown on Facebook. If you want to be part of this virtual Non-Parade of Lights, please send your short video clips to [email protected] or send a link to the Excellent Events Facebook page.

Santa Claus may be sighted around town, so make sure to tune in to the Live Non-Parade of Lights on November 27 on the Excellent Events Facebook page. His journey through town will be documented and shown on Facebook for all to see before and during the event, thanks to Champlain Township.

“Santa in the Village is always a special happening,” says Samme Putzel, of Excellent Events.“Kids will have to stay tuned to the Facebook page because you never know when Santa will show up.”

Those who would like to participate in Live Video may contact, before Friday, Samme at 613-678-2873 to arrange a designated time and site for recording.

Highlights around town include a giant Christmas tree at the corner of Main and High at the Philip Arber Memorial Garden; a decorated alley-way and display at Vert Fourchette on Main Street, decorations in storefronts and at individual residences throughout town. Many more displays will pop up this week throughout the village. The tree and the Wonderland of Lights house and business decorating contest are sponsored by the Vankleek Hill Business and Merchant Association. You can see full contest details in The Review or find the info on the Facebook event page for the Wonderland of Lights.

Special thanks to The Review for promoting this exciting and unusual event and to Champlain Township as a sponsor. For more information contact Samme at Excellent Events 613-678-2873.
