Two more COVID-19 deaths at Prescott and Russell Residence

At 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) announced that there have been two additional deaths due to COVID-19 at the Prescott and Russell Residence in Hawkesbury.

There have now been three deaths in total from COVID-19 at the UCPR owned and operated long-term care facility, which brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths across the Eastern Ontario Health Unit’s jurisdiction to 17.

The outbreak began more than two weeks ago and has resulted in staff shortages at the Residence.  Paramedics and Canadian Red Cross personnel are now assisting at the facility.
