L’Orignal Beach closed due to high bacteria levels

As of August 27, 2020, the L’Orignal Beach is closed. Water testing revealed bacterial levels which were above recommended limits established by the Ministry of Health. This condition may constitute a health hazard to the public as such waters may spread infectious diseases.

Surveillance of the water quality will continue. Once evidence reveals that the bacteria levels have reduced to an acceptable level, Champlain Township will announce that the closure has ended and notices at the beach will be removed.
