A 54 year-old woman is dead following a single vehicle collision on Ritchance Road in Champlain Township.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 16, Hawkesbury OPP officers, Champlain Township firefighters and Prescott-Russell Paramedics responded to the location, just east of Blue Corner Road. A car had left the roadway and entered the ditch.
The driver, who has been identified as Joanne Gowan of Alfred and Plantagenet Township, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information that may assist investigators is asked to contact the Hawkesbury OPP at 613-632-2729.
Another fatal collision occurred in Champlain Township early Saturday morning on Highway 17 near County Road 4.
