During the past 24 hours in Québec, there have been 100 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 56,316. Two new deaths were recorded, and with the one death which occurred before July 2, the total deaths are now 5,612.
A Lachute business has been affected. According to retailer J. B. Dixon’s Facebook page, an employee tested positive for COVID-19 on July 6. The employee is currently at home self-isolating and has not developed any severe symptoms as a result of the virus.
“Employees who worked on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th have been informed that they will need to be tested for COVID-19 before returning to JB Dixon and they have been advised to self-isolate as per the Canadian Public Health guidelines. Any customers who shopped with us on Thursday, July 2; Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4 are encouraged to self-monitor and to be tested for the virus,” says a message on the company’s Facebook page.
The company also noted it would be closed on July 9 to do a deep sanitization of the entire store and that employees will be subject to temperature checks before their shifts and will be required to disclose if they have had exposure to anyone with COVID-19 or if they have experienced symptoms of the virus.
Overall in Quebec, hospitalizations increased by nine, for a total of 317. Among these, 24 patients are in intensive care, a decrease of three patients.
A total of 11,454 tests were performed on July 8, for a cumulative total of 942,252.
New provincial regulations related to bars and restaurants were unveiled on Thursday and came into effect on Friday, July 10.
As of Friday, bars will be ordered to stop serving alcohol at midnight. Establishments must operate at 50 per cent of their capacity and customers must be seated.
In the MRC d’Argenteuil, there have been 99 cases of COVID-19 reported, and seven people have died.

According to the CISSS des Laurentides, COVID-19 is, or has been present in all nine municipalities within the MRC d’Argenteuil.
There were 332 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mirabel as of July 9.
