Three drivers fine for speeding in Argenteuil

Police officers in the MRC d’Argenteuil apprehended drivers who were speeding recently.

On July 4 at about 1 p.m., Sûreté du Québec officer stopped a vehicle travelling at 166 kilometres per hour in a 100-kilometre-per hour zone. A 33-year-old Gatineau man was fined $1,309 and had 14 demerit points added to his driver’s license. His license was suspended for seven days.

On the same day on Highway 50 in Brownsburg-Chatham, police stopped a driver travelling at 169 kilometres per hour in a 100-kilometre-per-hour zone. A 44-year-old Québec man was fined $1,309 and received 14 demerit points on his driver’s license. His license was suspended for seven days.

A third stop interecepted a vehicle travelling at 93 kilometres per hour in a 50 kilometres-per-hour zone on rue des Érables, in Brownsburg-Chatham. A 66-year-old Brownsburg-Chatham man was fined $539 and received six demerit points added to his driver’s license.
