A 35-year-old Gatineau man is dead following a fiery crash on Autoroute 50 in Grenville-sur-la-Rouge on Tuesday.
According to Sûreté du Québec (SQ) Sergeant Marc Tessier, the collision occurred at approximately 4 p.m. at kilometre 231, which is between Chemin Kilmar and Chemin Avoca. An eastbound vehicle crashed head-on into a westbound tractor trailer. The driver of the vehicle was ejected and was later pronounced dead at the scene. The tractor-trailer caught fire and the driver was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Autoroute 50 was closed for several hours. The SQ continues its investigation into the crash.
