Local Masons from St. John’s 21a presented a cheque of $500 to the Reverend James Douglas, representing the Vankleek Hill Food Bank, at their December 2019 meeting. The Masons meet above the library in Vankleek Hill and have been collecting non-perishable food, clothing, and presenting cheques for the past several years to the Vankleek Hill Food Bank. The food bank is one of several charities which the local Masons support during the year.  Masons bring non-perishable food and gently-used clothing to each meeting during the year and cash donations are collected during the meetings as well.

This year, St. John’s 21a celebrates its 175th anniversary in Champlain Township in Eastern Ontario and see it as their responsibility to contribute to the local community.  More information on the lodge and how to become a member can be found on the following web sites:  https://grandlodge.on.ca/ and https://easterndistrictmasons.wordpress.com/
