We will have to refuse the counter offer. The discussion with the City of Rigaud was very disturbing. The map of where the water came up in 2019 illustrates the absolute subjectivity of the flood map. 0-20 years has already been reached and swept aside. Over half the property was sitting in floodwaters this year. Only a fool can believe it was an accident.
In addition, the City is taking zero measures to prevent further flooding. The City of Rigaud is a modern day Gestapo – no chickens but plenty of pitbulls, no gardens, don’t touch the trees, regulations galore – I refuse to live under their botte. I am not asking to live like an anarchist but I cannot live like a slave especially to blind and unenlightened authoritarianism.
