To The Editor,
The question is, do we still need that?
A few week passed since we adjusted our multitude of clocks and I guess most of us are slowly getting use to it. When it happened, nearly everyone I spoke to were all saying the same thing. When will somebody do something about it, and quit this stupidity?
We are not in the 1940’s anymore and we don’t use lanterns to light up the way, to do our work. Marie-France Lalonde, now deputy of Orleans district raised the question at Queen’s Park earlier this year but I haven’t heard about it since.
Yes, some will say that there will be confusion with our neighbours in the south if they don’t change too, but like the states, we have six time zones and when we have to call from one time zone to another we just adjust. It is nice to go to work when it is sunny outside, but in the middle of winter most people will still be in the dark when they arrive at work. The nice thing about Daylight Saving Time is that when you get home you will still have some sunshine to enjoy in winter, and when summer comes we can all enjoy this beautiful sunshine longer, without having to readjust our clocks again. If nobody can agree on changing or not changing the time one way or another, split it down the middle and quit this stupidity once and for all.
This is something to talk to our politicians about, so they can put pressure on our government. Hope that Marie-France Lalonde will keep fighting for it.
Thank You.
