Celebrate Ontario Library Week at the Champlain Library in Vankleek Hill from October 21 to October 26 and see why “a visit will get you thinking.” The library will be offering many activities and reasons to celebrate.
Join library staff on Monday, October 21 for Customer Appreciation Day from 1 pm to 4 pm. Staff encourages library patrons to come for some refreshments, and to meet the staff and library board members. Don’t forget to become a member of the library if you are currently not a patron!
Throughout the month of October, the library will be running a Food for Fines campaign. The library does this annually to help fill the shelves at the local food banks. The library will accept payment for late fees in the form of NEW canned and dry food items. Food will be applied to library late fees only, 1 food item = $1.00. The Champlain Library is also a regular drop-off location for the local food bank during the year.
Also, in October the library is holding a giant fiction book sale of English and French books for adults, teens and children. Proceeds from the sale will go towards upgrading our technology.
Don’t forget to enter your name in a draw for a chance to win a basket which includes a book in English, a book in French and a Champlain Library tote bag.
Whether you enjoy book clubs, knitting and crafts, genealogy, astronomy, evening workshops or just relaxing in a friendly environment with a book – the Champlain Library is for you.
