The Champlain Library offers after-school activities for children every Thursday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. After-school activities can help provide a direction, create a new social network and aid academic success for children. They also inspire kids to create, meet new friends and have fun.
The Junior Book Club is held every first Thursday of the month. Children ages 8 to 10 years of age are encouraged to read books of varied themes which are provided by the library. They then meet and share their thoughts about the book. On October 10, Giant Jenga will take place for children aged 6 years and older. Kids will have fun building and removing the stack made of empty pop cases. Let’s see how long the stack will remain standing!
Children will learn how to make and fly their own paper airplanes on October 17. They are easy to make and even more fun to fly. On October 24, kids will have a chance to use their STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematical) skills with LEGO. Children of all ages are invited to design and build Lego creations.
The Champlain Library recognizes the needs of young people and is committed to providing this programming for children of all ages to stimulate creative potential and to encourage the habit of reading.
