On Sunday, June 9th Grenville resident Francis Desjardins, a 5-season Mini-Stock racer at Cornwall Motor Speedway, was back in action for the first time this season. “Early in the 2018 season I destroyed my Mini-Stock machine in a spectacular crash where I did a few rollovers” explains the 39-year-old racer. “Following this accident I missed more than half of last year’s action. My friend Richard Leblanc helped me fix and rebuild my #D-13 machine and here we are!” Francis Desjardins showed his rivals that he was still competitive as he brought his sparkling green Mini-Stock car to the heat race win at his first race of the year on the ¼ mile oval clay track. “This heat win helped to take some stress off my shoulders as the last time that I had a checkered flag in-between my hands was in 2017, the season that I finished 3rd at the Cornwall Motor Speedway Mini-Stock championship ” concludes Desjardins.
