On May 22, 2019, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Russell County OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint on Heritage Road in Russell, Ontario resulting with an Ontario driver being arrested.
During the investigation, the officer utilized the Approved Screening Device (ASD) on the driver.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Russell man was charged with:
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) CC 320.14(1)(b) and
• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs CC 320.14(1)(a)
The accused received a 90 day driver’s license suspension and the vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on June 19, 2019.
Female charged for driving while impaired by alcohol
On May 25, 2019 at approximately 3:15 p.m., a Russell County OPP officer noticed a stationary vehicle parked strangely on Principale Street in Casselman, Ontario.
During the investigation, the officer utilized the ASD on the driver.
As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old woman from Kingston was arrested and charged with:
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) CC 320.14(1)(b)
The accused received a 90 day driver’s license suspension and the vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on June 12, 2019.
Neighbour dispute leads to assault charge
On May 20, 2019 at approximately 10:45 a.m., a Russell County OPP officer responded to a disturbance on Lebrun Side Road in The Nation Municipality, Ontario.
The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between two adult males.
As a result of the investigation, a 59-year-old male, from The Nation Municipality, Ontario was charged with:

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on June 26, 2019.
