An East Hawkesbury business is rebuilding after a fire in mid-April.

Petit Brûlé Products, located on Concession 7, produces smoked fish and caviar from local sturgeon, carp, bullhead, catfish, and black crappie.  Owner Fabienne Côté said one of her two kitchens was destroyed in the fire.  There were no injuries and she said the cause of the fire is unofficially electrical.

Cote said demolition of the former kitchen building began on Saturday, but she plans to re-open soon using her other facilities and once more fishing has been done.

Petit Brûlé is licensed to catch Lake Sturgeon from the St. Lawrence River in Québec, and other species from the Ottawa River.
