The City of Clarence-Rockland is holding a public meeting on Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m at the Optimiste Performance Hall, 1535 du Parc Avenue in Rockland. Members of the Emergency Operations Centre for Clarence-Rockland will be present to provide information and answer questions.
The Red Cross will be assisting the City with managing the emergency shelter located at the Clarence Creek Arena, 418 Lemay Street. The shelter was accessible as of 10 p.m. on April 26.
Earlier Friday, Clarence-Rockland Mayor Clarence-Rockland Mayor Guy Desardins declared a state of emergency for the municipality. The area covered by the state of emergency includes properties on Voisine, Woods, Pigeon, Pago and Wilson Street, as well as Old Highway 17 in Rockland. A section of Lacroix Road in Hammon, as well as an area around Cobbs Lake in Bourget is also included.
