Square dance to raise funds for Centre Marguerite

Promenade, do-se-do, and face your partner! Come on out and enjoy some good old square dancing on November 23 at École secondaire catholique régionale de Hawkesbury.

The event is a Soirée Folklorique and is a fundraiser for the Centre Marguerite facility for women. The evening was organized by grade 10 student Adèle Lavigne who has volunteered at the centre.

The square dancing will be called in French, but the instructions are easy to follow so everyone is encouraged put on their dancing shoes and give it a try. No experience is necessary.  The event is meant to be fun.

All of the items required for hosting the event were donated so all proceeds will go to Centre Marguerite.

Admission for children aged 12 and under is free.  Student admission is $10 and adults are $20.  The price of admission includes entry in a draw.  Other donations are also welcome.

Swing your partner round and round, and to purchase tickets, call Adèle Lavigne at; 438-874-1592.

While you are here, we have a small ask.

More people are reading The Review than ever before — across our many platforms. So far, we have not put up a paywall to limit the stories you can read. We want to keep you in the news loop. But advertising revenues are increasingly going to the big two: you know who they are. If you value The Review’s independent, local community journalism, or you value the many ways we support dozens of community organizations in their endeavours, consider supporting our work. It takes time, effort and professional smarts to stay on top of community news and present well-researched, objective news articles on issues which matter to you.

If you read stories on this website, or you have come here from an Instant Article post on Facebook, think about subscribing. It would be a vote of confidence for the work that we do, and for the future well-being of your community.
