The main four-corner intersection in Vankleek Hill, where Highway 34, High Street and Main Street meet, will be closed for a two-week period to enable completion of the water and sewage underground infrastructure work. Detours will be in place for two weeks, beginning Monday, September 24, 2018.

Champlain Township issued a press release today advising that as part of the Highway 34 / Connecting Link Project, it will be closing the intersection of Highway 34, High Street and Main Street (County Road 10) for a period of 2 weeks, beginning Monday, September 24, 2018.

During this time, the contractor will work extended hours (day & evening), in order to work as efficiently and effectively possible and to make the deadline of completion as short as possible.

All construction areas will be marked by barricades and road closure signs. You are asked to observe all signage in the area and follow designated traffic routes. Detour Route Plans have been created and for this two-week period, in addition, Kirk Lane and Hamil Street will be open to two-way traffic.

Champlain Township thanks drivers and local residents for their patience and understanding.
