Got talent?

If you answered a resounding “YES!” to the above and are aged between 6 and 21, this year’s Vankleek Hill Fair holds quite the opportunity.

The 2018 edition of the fair will feature the first edition of the Rise 2 Fame Talent Show, a event that will feature youth from the area and their talents, whether it be dancing, singing or music – all in front of three fabulous expert judges.

“We’re trying to get more youth involvement, especially those that aren’t connected to agriculture, to build up participation and interest in our fair,” said Amy LeRoy, one of the Vankleek Hill Agricultural Society Fair Directors, alongside Katie Brandrick.

The event is produced by the Western Fair District, based in London, Ontario.

The talent show will feature two divisions: Junior (ages 6 to 12) and Youth (ages 13 to 21). Winners of both categories will get to bring their act to the province-wide finals in London in the fall, the Vankleek Hill event being a preliminary show.

“We’re still looking for talented people,” added LeRoy.

Anyone interested in participating should contact Amy LeRoy directly by calling 613 872-9093. More information can also be found on the official website, vankleekhillfair.ca.

The Vankleek Hill Fair will be taking place from August 16 to 19, 2018. The Rise 2 Fame Talent show will occur on Friday, August 17 at 6pm, under the green tent.

Cash prizes will be awarded.
