United Way Prescott-Russell is calling on all businesses across the United Counties of Prescott and Russell region to participate in a consignment auction fundraiser on September 8 as part of its 20-year anniversary campaign.

United Way aims to raise $40,000 at the auction for local community programs while also promoting and supporting local businesses. Businesses are invited to contribute new merchandise or equipment, end-of-stock or end-of-season merchandise, services or subscriptions at the September 8 event.

Participating businesses will share proceeds from sales with United Way Prescott-Russell on a 60/40 basis with 60% going to the merchant and 40% going to United Way to support programs that provide social and health services, support for individuals living in or at risk of poverty, and children and youth development initiatives. These programs are used by 1 in 4 of Prescott Russell’s 89,000 residents.

“Prescott-Russell is home to some of Ontario’s most generous businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals invested in the success of their communities,” said Jean-Marc Lalonde, co-chair of the 2018 United Way Campaign. “We look forward to working with partners new and old to ensure Prescott Russell grows as a strong, healthy and safe community for all.”

“Supporting this auction is a great way for us to connect with the community and give back where it is needed most,” said France Lalonde of RONA J. Lalonde et Fils of Rockland and Hammond. “It is nice to know that the members of our community can have access to support made possible by United Way if, when and where they need it.”

The auction will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Jean-Marc Lalonde Arena in Rockland. To learn more and to sign up, please contact  Jodie Densmore, Regional Director, at 613-632-4699
