A crucial emergency meeting on the future of the Vankleek Hill Junior Cougars has been called by Cougars General Manager Mario Messier. The organization is in urgent need of help and people-power.

Several positions in the organization, including those of General Manager, Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Trainer, President, Vice President and Directors, will be vacant by the end of this week. If not filled, the only option left to the organization will be to advise the National Capital Junior Hockey League that the Junior Cougars will cease to operate as of May 31, 2018.

An emergency meeting will take place on Thursday, May 17 at 7 p.m. at the Windsor Tavern in Vankleek Hill, to share the issues with the community and to seek help.

The Vankleek Hill Junior Cougars, a community-owned team, may disappear if no volunteers come forward. The team has been operating for 28 years.
