The Hudson Country Homes Tour welcomes people from all over, not just from Montreal and the surrounding communities, but also from as far away as Ottawa, Orleans, Nepean, Dalkeith, Morrisburg, Cornwall, St-Eugene, Vankleek Hill and naturally, L’Orignal.
Tour co-convenors are very proud when the tour attracts realtors! After all, it is not as if they haven’t seen a house or two! They were particularly touched by a note written by real estate sales representative Helen MacLeod from L’Orignal. A “regular” tour participant, Helen took the time to thank us for having reserved a table for her large group at St. James’ Church for lunch, for the musical accompaniment, for the charming men serving the lunch, and for the patience shown to the female drivers by the men who provided valet service! Helen also commented on the informative and friendly hosts at each home.
This serves to remind us organizers that while we tend to obsess over securing the homes from one year to the next (a sincere thank you to those who accept to open their homes for the benefit of this charitable initiative), we tend to lose sight of the fact that it is the team of loyal volunteers which plays a critical role in making it a very special day for each and every tour participant. It is after all, a very socially-engaging activity as well as an opportunity to learn, acquire great decorating ideas or to be inspired to dream at the very least. Organizers look forward to welcoming Helen and her group back this year, Thursday, June 7.
You may order your tickets — $30 for the tour and $20 for lunch at St. James’ Church– now by emailing: [email protected].
