On February 20, 2018 at approximately 4:58 pm, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Kenyon Concession Road 1 in North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation had taken place between a male and his wife. The investigation revealed that the male had assaulted the female on multiple occasions. The accused male also struck the victim with a weapon.
A 54-year-old male from North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with three counts of assault and two counts of assault with a weapon.
He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
In a second incident on February 21, 2018 at approximately 9:05 a.m., Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Main Street, Alexandria in North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation had taken place between a male and his wife. The investigation revealed that the male had assaulted the female and caused damage to property within the home.
A 29-year-old male from North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with assault and mischief.
He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on March 6, 2018.
