The Seaway Valley Devils have returned with a silver medal after a three-day provincial championship. The team had a successful tournament, having only one goal scored against in regulation play over the three days, and that was while attempting to kill off a 5 on 3 penalty kill. Palmerston Terminators took home gold while Kilsyth Young Guns brought home the bronze in the 7 team division.
The Devils had pre-qualified in late November at a tournament in Barrie for the National Championships which will be hosted in Owen Sound in early April.
Players on the team are from various Eastern Ontario communities which include Lunenburg, Avonmore, Ingleside and Moose Creek, as well as areas to the west such as Embrun, Russell, Marionville and Cumberland. Local representatives are from Maxville and St Eugene. The team is co-coached by Michelle and Christine DeRepentigny from the Maxville area, as well as Dawn MacDuff from the Vankleek Hill region.
