The new club is off to a really solid start and it has a new name: The Glengarry Tartans!
Three+ squares chained across, curtsey-turned and promenaded the dance floor on the first official dance afternoon.
Francois Desmarais’ calling and teaching skills ensured that a great time was had by all.
The group’s goal is to continue spreading the word to bring in more people to enjoy this low-cost activity in Alexandria.
New dancers are welcomed at any time as the instructions will be reviewed at every dance.
The group has decided to dance twice monthly on Sundays as a starting point.
The Glengarry Tartans – Modern Square Dance Club meets at the the Glengarry Sports Palace, 170 MacDonald Blvd., Alexandria. New dancers are always welcome.
Organizers emphasize the the aim is to dance for fun, not perfection! Cost is $6.00 to cover expenses
Upcoming dates are: Sunday, 2-4 pm, Feb 11 – Valentine theme, wear red, pink or white if you like.
