The Lachute Stars team was the only home team to make it to the AA finals. But, the team lost 4-0 against the Quebec Gladiateurs. Last year, Quebec lost in the finals but this year, they came back with a mission – to bring the 40th Lachute National Midget Tournament trophy back home with them.
The Lachute’s Stars “AA” battled hard but, Quebec scored in the first period. There were no goals for either team during the second period. Three goals were scored for Quebec in quick sucession during the third period, which sealed the game. The games were well attended with fans from both teams cheering them on. Quebec’s goalie, Lenny Benoit, is 6’4″, 16 years of age. To give a perspective, Montreal’s Canadiens goalie Carey Price is 6’3″.
