Yves St-Denis, Member of the National Assembly for Argenteuil, announced that the Quebec provincial government will give $168,750 for the restoration of the Sainte-Anastasie Church roof.
The funds come from the 2017-2018 Restoration of Religion-based Cultural Heritage program recently announced by the Minister of Culture and Communications and Minister responsible for the Protection and Promotion of the French Language, Luc Fortin.
“Investing in the restoration of Sainte-Anastasie Church is assuming our duty to protect and showcase this important place of worship to benefit the citizens of Lachute.” said St-Denis.
The program has a total budget of $12 million for all of Québec and finances up to 85 per cent of restoration project costs.
