If you’ve ever wanted to see the Stanley Cup in person but aren’t on track to becoming an elite National Hockey League player, then mark Tuesday, August 22, on your calendar —it might just be your lucky day.
On August 22, Pittsburgh Penguins assistant coach, Jacques Martin, will bring the Stanley Cup to the Laplante car dealership in Hawkesbury, as part of his day with the Cup.
The event is open to the public and everyone is welcome to come and visit with Martin and the Cup. The exact time-frame of the event has not yet been determined.
Jacques Martin was born in Saint-Pascal-Baylon, Ontario and has held a youth hockey school, the Jacques Martin Hockey School, in the local area for more than 20 years. Martin has worked in the NHL since 1986, serving as head coach of the St.Louis Blues, Ottawa Senators, Florida Panthers, and Montreal Canadiens. He has also served as general manager of the Panthers and assistant coach of the Quebec Nordiques.
