The Chamber of Commerce of Hawkesbury and Region is inviting business owners concerned about the minimum wage hike planned for January 2018 to meet over breakfast. The province plans to raise the minimum wage from $11.40 to $14 in 2018 and to $15 starting January 2019. 

Following a survey it conducted last June, the invited Grant Crack to meet with local businesses. He refused to do so, but offered to meet five representatives from the Chamber of Commerce in early August.

The two meetings with business owners will be on Thursday, July 20, at 8 a.m. and Wednesday, July 26, at 5 p.m. in the private room at the Vieux Château restaurant. The Chamber of Commerce is those interested to confirm their presence by contacting them via email at [email protected] or by phone (613) 632-8066.
