Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) has been awarded “exemplary” accreditation status from Accreditation Canada.

Accreditation Canada is a not-for-profit, non-government organization which offers its clients accreditation. The process involves a visit from “peer reviewers” who look at whether an organization is following standards. In a press release, HGMH says it has been assessed on “everything from organizational aspects like governance and leadership to hospital protocols in areas from infection prevention to emergency department to lab services.” The statement said staff at the hospital have been preparing for months for the review, and “exemplary” is the highest possible score.

The process of preparing for the review was coordinated by Emergency Preparedness Coordinator and Project Manager Louise Quenneville.
