Liam Natoli, a player with the Fusion Bantam B1 team, was recently hospitalized to remove a benign tumour growing in the back of his nose. Unfortunately, this means he’ll be out for the rest of the season.

The operation was on Tuesday, February 7, and Natoli has since been sent home to regain his strength. The team had a tournament the weekend following his operation and made it to the finals. The team hung Natoli’s jersey behind the team bench to honour their player.

Following the game, the team drove through the dense snowstorm and stopped at the hospital in Ottawa to visit their teammate and show him the trophies they were taking home.

Natoli’s mom posted a message on Facebook thanking the team for their “unconditional love and support” and ended by saying, “there is no ‘I’ in this team.”
