On November 30, police arrested four people for allegedly possessing less than three kilograms of marijuana in Hawkesbury.

Police officers including members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Drug Enforcement Unit, Community Drug Action Team, and East Region Emergency Response Team, searched a residential property in the town. Police say marijuana and Canadian currency were seized. Four people at the property, all male, were arrested: a 49-year-old, two 22-year-olds, and a 17-year-old. They were all charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

They were released and will appear in court on January 4 in L’Orignal. Police say they are not disclosing the names of any of the accused in order to protect the identity of the 17-year-old, whose identity is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
