This past week the Vankleek Hill Curling Club hosted their annual senior mixed bonspiel. The winners of the first draw, representing the Maxville Curling Club, were skip Jim McKay, third Lise Gauvreau, second Wally Walsh and lead Johanne Cook. The second prize went to the team from Hawkesbury, with skip Serge Sauve , Lucille Sauve, second Jim Hocquard and lead Martine Brazeau. The second draw was won by the team from Montreal West, with skip James Botsford, third Dianne Hueula, second Ray Dubrule and lead Maureen Custy. The second prize in the second draw went tothe team from Baie d’Urfe, with skip Pierre Lesage, third Pat Guppy, second Joe Lewis and lead Susan Bartlett.

Saturday, November 19 saw the beginning of the Community Bonspiel. Curling games will occur every evening this week with the top 12 teams returning on Saturday, November 26 for the finals.

For  regular curlers, this past week saw the end of the first draw. The winners of the Monday morning session were Bob Griffith, Audrey Campbell, Lise Gauvreau and Don Fuller. The Monday evening winners were May Price, Mary Higginson, Ken Unsworth and Dale Clare. Wednesday morning winners were Keith Cameron, Marcel Clement, Pauline Albert and Joe Kwak. Wednesday evening winners were May Price, Karen Cowan, Ruedi Hausermann and Deana Conway. The Thursday morning winners were Dorli Wicki, Pauline Albert, Liz Radix and Andrea Zihlmann. The Thursday evening winners were Keith Murray, Dan Tremblay, Bruce Cross and Stuart Wood. The Friday morning winners were Darcy Conway, Bob Griffith, Pierre Berthiaume and Eva Shepherd.
