Champlain Library will supply books to approximately 100 children whose families are recipients of Christmas baskets distributed in L’Orignal, St-Eugene and Vankleek Hill. But they can’t do it alone. Champlain Library needs the support of the community to make this program a success. Give the gift of literacy to a child this Christmas. If you would like to participate in this initiative, please call Champlain Library at 613-678-2216 or stop by the library at 94 Main Street East in Vankleek Hill and they will match you up with a child. We ask that you donate a new book for this child (along with a gift bag and tissue paper). If you are unable to purchase a book, we would be happy to accept monetary donations as well which will be used to purchase books and gift bags. The children who receive these books know that others care about them and it gives them encouragement to develop life-long reading skills.
