Gilles Faubert of Elishka Farms is at the Vankleek Hill Farmers’ Market every week selling a variety of produce, meats and other products from their Green Lane farm. On Saturday, October 15, Faubert will bring one of the farm’s famous white pumpkins the Vankleek Hill Farmers’ Market where you can try to guess its weight. You can make your guess between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Each guess will be recorded and placed into a box. At 12:30, the weight of the pumpkin will be announced and the first, second and third-place winners will be announced. The first-place winner will receive a $25 gift certificate and the white pumpkin used in the contest. The second-place winner will also receive a pumpkin and a $15 gift certificate and the third-place winner will receive a small pumpkin and a $10 gift certificate. Faubert says he will be visiting Vankleek Hill Country Depot to obtain the official weight of the white contest pumpkin on a calibrated scale there. The weight will be recorded and sealed in an envelope until it is opened at 12:30 p.m. on October 15.
